Man Dies At Hospital Weeks After Shooting In Northwest DC: MPD

A 40-year-old District man who was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in Northwest DC late last month has died from his injuries, the Metropolitan Police Department announced.

Northeast DC resident Andre Wilson was pronounced dead at the hospital on Wednesday following a midday shooting on Saturday, Jan. 20. 

The shooting was reported shortly after 4 p.m. on Jan. 20 in the 1200 block of Emerson Street NW, where responding officers found Wilson unresponsive outside of a vehicle suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to an area hospital, where he died on Wednesday, Feb. 28, according to officials, turning the shooting investigation into a homicide probe. 

No information about a possible shooter or motive has been released by the department, which is offering a $25,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest and prosecution of whomever is responsible.
